Awards Committee
The Awards Committee oversees the choosing of two annual awards: the student award and the social worker of the year award. The student award is given to a second year student attending one of North Carolina's graduate schools of social work. To apply, students submit a 2-4 page paper that describes a treatment case, and then interview with members of the committee. The committee then chooses the student who has demonstrated the most thorough understanding of issues important to clinical social workers. We present the award at graduation, accompanied by a cash gift. The paper is published in the NCSCSW newsletter. The committee will begin accepting papers in January. Watch your mail box for details.
The Social Worker of the Year award is given to an LCSW for his/her contributions to clients and the community. The award is presented at the annual ethics conference in the spring.
