Student Treatment and Referral
The Student Treatment & Referral Committee offers social work students an opportunity for psychotherapy at affordable fees. Organized several years ago to support students during their training, this program has provided therapy to many students each year.
The program provides referrals for students to senior social workers who are on our roster, and willing to see social work students on a sliding scale basis. Once a member of our committee receives a call from a student a brief phone intake interview is done. On the basis of this interview clinicians are called who meet the students requests for location, time slots, etc. The committee member then calls the student back, usually within 2-3 days, with the names of up to 3 clinicians. The student can then pursue any of these referrals to find someone they are comfortable with. Fees are set by the treating clinician in consultation with the student. All inquiries, assessments and treatment are confidential.
