Social Work Ethics Investigators

The North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board is seeking Social Work Ethics Investigators to investigate ethical complaints brought before the Board.  

Investigators review assigned complaints, obtain and review evidence and interview witnesses by telephone or in person.  They develop a detailed, professionally oriented report for use by the Board and as a possible source of evidence in the resolution of the ethics complaint.  Investigators are independent contractors; compensated at $50.00 an hour, to start, and must carry their own liability insurance.  A simple case may take a few hours to complete while an unusually complex case may take 20 hours or more.  Investigators are expected to complete the reports expeditiously.  

To be considered for this position an LCSW must be well grounded in clinical social work and the ethical environment that regulates and informs social work practice.  The applicant must have no substantiated history of an ethics complaint and must have a detailed knowledge of the North Carolina Social Worker Certification and Licensure Act, and Title 21 Chapter 63 of the North Carolina Administrative Code governing the practice of social work (available at the Board's website: www.ncswboard.org).
