Call for Nominations
The Nomination Committee proudly announces the current nominations for election to the Board for 2012-14. Board positions are elected on alternative years for two year terms. This year’s slate will join the President, Vice-President, Newsletter Chair, Legislative Chair, and Ethics Chair who are scheduled for election in 2013.
Biographies of the current nominees are listed below and on the NCSCSW website at www.ncscsw.org. Any member can make additional nominations by notifying Ellen Pizer at 919-210-8585 or ellen@pizer.net. Additional nominations need to be received by May 25.

Tammy Blackard Cook, LCSW has been practicing clinical social work since the early 1990s. Her early experience was in child welfare in Chicago, beginning as a foster care/adoption caseworker and culminating in national work on subsidized guardianship. She graduated from the University of Chicago's social work program in 1994. She moved back home to North Carolina in 2001, working for a local EAP and opening a private practice. Currently, she co-owns Aspire Counseling Group.
Treasurer
Grayson Nichols is a child and family therapist practicing in Raleigh, NC. Her private practice consists mostly of adolescents and their families but also practices play therapy with younger children and does couples work as it relates to parenting and other family matters, such as blended families. Additionally, she is a certified coach working with students and adults with ADHD.
Secretary
Liza Gellerstedt is a graduate of the UNC School of Social Work and currently works in the Counseling Center at Meredith College. She has previously worked at Holly Hill Hospital and at the Chapel Hill Police Department's Crisis Unit. She has served the board for two-years as secretary.
Program Chair
Mary Beth Tobin received her MSW from UNC-CH School of Social Work. She has worked for many years in child mental health providing diagnostic and treatment services as well as supervising and teaching mental health trainees. She is, currently, employed at the Child & Adolescent OPC Central Regional Hospital and has a part-time private practice where she sees children and adults. She has been a member of NCSCSW for many years, active in various Board positions and committees, and looks forward to serving on the Program Committee.
Membership Chair
Patty Key graduated with her MSW from Florida State University in 1990. Although she started her career by working on inpatient psychiatric units, she has spent the past 18 years treating adults and couples in an outpatient setting. She has been a long term volunteer of Alliance of AIDS Services, working with clients living with HIV and AIDS. She has been a member of NCSCSW since 2004 and was appointed to the position of Membership Chair in July 2011. She is excited to be working on recruiting new members, fostering relationships with local universities and developing the mentorship program.
