Society Leadership Opportunities

Dear Members:

It is time to nominate members to your NCSCSW Board. Your participation is needed for NCSCSW to exist as a voice for clinical social work. All members are eligible; the offices of President and Vice President are designated as full member. Terms begin July 1. The two year terms scheduled for election this May are:

President: Oversees and coordinates the functioning of the Society: with the Board, defines goals and priorities for the Society; develops an agenda and presides over Board meetings; keeps abreast of the various committee work and assigns tasks to the appropriate committees; provides liaison between Society and NASWNC; represents the Society, or appoints a representative, in matters of professional interest; prepares a report for the Newsletter

Vice-President: Assists President in various projects and tasks; presides over Society functions in the President's absence; serves as Chair of the Nominating Committee; when By-Law Committee is needed, serves or appoint someone as Chair.

Ethics Committee Chair: Identifies ethical concerns affecting clinical social work practice and a means for promoting ethical practice; ie: consultation for members, newsletter and/or website article.

Newsletter Committee: Works closely with the Administrative Assistant to publish a newsletter twice a year. Identifies deadlines, co-ordinates submissions, reads, and edits for the Administrative Assistant to publish.

Legislative Committee: In recent years, this committee has participated in the Professional Association Council and studied NC mental health policies.
